66kV Substation Build - Larport Farm Battery Storage, Hereford

Wootton & Wootton were contracted to install the 66kV balance of plant for the AIS build at the 66kV Larport Farm Battry Storage site that was being built.

Alongside these works we were also contracted for the local DNO to carry out the Point of Connection works within the grid substation adjacent to minimise the interfaces that had to be managed. A VLF pressure test concluded the 2 projects simultaneously.

Scope of Works:

• To supply labour, tools, plant and equipment to install:
  • 3 x Cable sealing end Aluminium Structure
  • 3 x 66kV post insulators
  • 1 x low level disconnector structure – Aluminium Structure
  • 1 x 66kV Low level disconnector with earth switch
  • 3 x 66kV Voltage Transformer Aluminium Structure
  • 3 x 66kV Voltage Transformer
  • 2 x 66kV High level disconnector Aluminium Structures
  • 1 x 66kV High level disconnector
  • 1 x 66kV High level disconnector with earth switch
  • 3 x low level Surge Arrester structure – Aluminium Structure
  • 3 x 66kV Surge arresters
  • 6 x sets of 66kV Busbars and associated connectors
  • 1 x set of 3 66Kv droppers to the surge arresters
  • Cable and cleat into position using twin Bolt Fixing Atlas Cable Cleats (Ellis Patent, 9 in total)
  • Carryout grouting at each structure base (inc. material supply)
  • Erect 1 x CSE scaffold enclosure to carryout the 66kV terminations (inc. material supply)
  • 2 x set of 3 66Kv 3M coldshrink terminations (inc. material supply)
  • Installation of 360m of 400mm EPR 66kV cable
  • Carryout a 66kV VLF pressure test
