Goole Fields II Wind Farm - Near Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire

Goole Fields II is a 17 turbine extension to the operational Goole Fields Wind Farm in the East Riding of Yorkshire near Goole by RWE, which upon completion will be generating circa 42.5MW of electricity.

Wootton & Wootton were successful in securing all of the distribution works on Goole Fields II wind farm, including the onsite 33kV private network, the Contestable grid connection and the Northern Powergrid Point of Connection works.

Due to the GIS switchgear installed in the Wind Farm compound having internal VT's, it was necessary to temporarily install the terminations into a Size 4 Pfisterer Straight Joint with one end fitted with a dummy plug. This had to be carried out 3 times as there was only one availbe for use. 

All works were completed successfully, on budget and ahead of schedule.

1 x set Tyco 66kV Straight Joints

1 x set 3M 66kV Tyco Straight Joints

32 x sets 33kV Tyco RSTI Terminations

25 x sets 33kV Tyco Straight Joints

5 x sets 33kV Size 3 Pfisterer Inner Cone Plug In Terminations

Carry out all Sheath Testing on 33kV & 66kV

Full VLF testing of all 66kV to Northern Powergrid Specification with HVA200 - Contestable & Non-Contestable
